The Better Security, Better Care programme and Katie Thorn of Digital Care Hub (formerly Digital Social Care) were both awarded at the National Cyber Awards 2023 on Monday this week.
Better Security, Better Care took home the Cyber Awareness Award following the programme’s efforts in working with care services to improve data protection and cyber security across the sector. This recognition highlights the programme’s dedication to continuous improvement and innovation within the adult social care sector.
Katie Thorn of Digital Care Hub took home the prestigious NHS England award following her contribution in supporting the sector to make the most out of digital technology. Katie has worked for Digital Care Hub since its launch in 2019 and has been a strong voice of support for the sector’s digital engagement.
Since launching in 2021 The Better Security, Better Care programme has supported thousands of adult social care organisations to complete the Data Security and Protection Toolkit which enables care organisations to evidence they have good data and cyber security practices in place.
The Better Security, Better Care programme is honoured to receive this prestigious award and remains committed to its goal to improve cyber-security standards within the adult social care sector. This award not only serves as recognition for the hard work of the entire team but also as motivation for continuous improvement to increasing cyber awareness and security within the sector moving forward.
