Data Security and Protection Training and Skills Development Report

This report by the Institute of Public Care (IPC) at Oxford Brookes University identifies the data security and protection training needs of SME care providers, including how well current provision meets those needs, and how the training market could be developed.

IPC undertook a programme of research to identify what Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) compliant training looks like, reviewed existing free training resources, developed a skills assessment for frontline staff, and explored how the Caldicott Guardian role is represented in the sector.

The report was published in collaboration with the Better Security, Better Care programme in July 2022.
